Obituary

Maria Teresa Gabriella Scarpitti, 80, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.
Maria was born in Carovilli, Italy to the late Mario and Matilda (Putaturo) Scarpitti and lived in the Akron and Cuyahoga Falls area most of her life. She was a faithful member of Carovilillese Club Lady's Aux, Italian Center, LaRadici and St, Anthony Parish,  She enjoyed working with coins and stamps and  loved knitting.
     Maria is survived by her aunt, Saveria Putaturo; special cousin, Ricardo Putaturo; special friends, John and Anna Petzker; and many other loving family and friends.
     Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, February 19, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 83 Mosser Place, Akron, Ohio 44310. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home, 936 N. Main St., Akron (corner of N. Main St. and Mildred Ave,).  Maria's final resting place will be Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron, Ohio.
     Due to Covid-19, we request that those attending the Mass of Christian Burial and/or Visitation will practice social distancing and wear face masks.  If you are unable to attend or do not wish to attend, we understand, your love and prayers will be appreciated.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony Parish
